Scope
The Journal of Production Systems and Logistics is an open access journal publishing original research in the field of production systems and logistics. The journal covers production engineering, factory planning, supply chain and logistics management, digitalisation, and sustainability in industrial value creation. Articles are published continuously throughout the year, are assigned individual DOIs, and are permanently archived in cooperation with TIB, the Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology, Hannover.
Manuscript Submission Process
Authors create an account and upload their paper and key details through the publish-Ing. platform. The submission template is available in your profile. At submission, authors choose their preferred peer review style (single- or double-blind) and how many peer reviews should be conducted (one to three).
Qualified reviewers are matched from the certified reviewer community based on domain expertise and availability. Authors follow the review status in their account, revise and resubmit their paper in response to reviewer comments if requested, and — once accepted — upload the final formatted version and complete payment before the paper is published open access with an individual DOI.

Review Model
Every submission is peer reviewed. At submission the author selects the review format — single-blind (the reviewer sees the author identity) or double-blind (mutual anonymity) — and the number of reviews, between one and three. At least one full peer review is mandatory for every submission, without exception. Reviewers are qualified experts matched from the partner institutes of the publish-Ing. reviewer network on the basis of domain expertise and availability. Reviewers assess each paper against the published review criteria and return one of four recommendations: accept without changes, accept with minor changes, revision required followed by a second review, or reject. Where a revision is required, the author receives the full review comments and resubmits for a second review. The editors monitor every review and take the final publication decision.
publish-Ing. supports single-blind review (the reviewer sees the author's identity) and double-blind review (mutual anonymity between authors and reviewer), and between one and three peer reviews per submission depending on the requirements of the venue or research sponsor. At least one full peer review is mandatory for every submission, without exception.
Anonymisation for double-blind review: authors who choose the double-blind option must anonymise their manuscript before submission — remove author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, and any other self-identifying references from the text, file metadata, and filename — so that reviewers cannot identify the author(s). Manuscripts submitted for single-blind or open review do not require anonymisation.
Review Criteria
Every paper submitted to publish-Ing. is evaluated against the same criteria. This is the assessment every reviewer completes.
Title
Does the title reflect the contents of the paper?
Comprehensibility and logical presentation
How clearly is the paper structured and argued?
Relevance and originality
Is the topic current, and does the paper add something new?
Practical relevance
Can the findings be applied in industrial or scientific practice?
Research and literature
Does the paper demonstrate thorough research and engagement with the most relevant and latest literature?
Conclusions
Are the conclusions clear and supported by the results?
Language and style
Does the paper conform to accepted standards of academic language?
Template conformity
Does the paper follow the submission template?
Open suggestions and criticism
In addition, the reviewer can submit markups or suggestions via PDF.
Based on this assessment, the reviewer gives one of four recommendations:
The recommendation follows from the reviewer's overall assessment; the final publication decision rests with the editors.
Publication Fees (APC)
Publication fees are only charged once reviewers have accepted the paper and it is ready to publish — there are no costs before then. The standard fee is 550 € per paper (one review included). Members of the reviewer community pay 390 €, receive a further −70 € discount for every paper they review, and are charged an additional +70 € fee per extra requested review (not charged for revised-paper reviews). All prices exclude VAT; publication fees are net prices.

Licensing & Copyright
To be published, authors transfer a right of use for their paper to the operators of publish-Ing. and the TIB repository (Leibniz University Hannover and TIB) for online provision. All papers are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Germany (CC BY 3.0 DE) licence. By submitting a paper, authors agree to accept the license agreement (or authorize the conference organizers to accept it on their behalf, where applicable). Every paper receives an individual DOI and is available open access, with no reader fees.
